About this course

Classroom support to prepare for citizenship — at your own pace.

The Citizenship Test Preparation Course is designed for adult learners who want more support than self-study. Each session pairs official citizenship topics with reading practice, digital skills, and guided question review, in a welcoming classroom where it's easy to ask questions.

It runs as part of the Australian Government's Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program, which means it's free for eligible participants and suits people building their English literacy alongside their citizenship knowledge.

Build reading confidence so citizenship questions are easier to understand and answer under test conditions.

02 Australia and its people

Study Australian history, First Nations heritage, national symbols, and the shared story behind citizenship.

03 Democratic beliefs and responsibilities

Understand rights, liberties, voting, the rule of law, and the values expected of Australian citizens.

04 Government and law

Learn how federal, state, territory, and local government work, including parliament and the Constitution.

05 Guided test practice

Work through test-style questions, review answers, and learn how to identify the key information in each question.

06 Digital study skills

Each class follows the same dependable shape, with steady practice and space to ask questions.
